About the Almarante Fire
District

The Almarante Fire District
provides fire protection and emergency medical services for residents
living within an 86-square mile area that includes the communities of Almarant, Svea, Campton, Okalooe and the area surrounding
Laurel Hill
and Highway 85, a vital evacuation route during hurricanes and other
disasters. (Map service area here.)

The Department participates in a mutual aid agreement with fire
departments in
Laurel Hill,
Blackman, Dorcas, and North Okaloosa.
Frequently, Almarante FD is the first responder to wildfires and other
emergencies in the district. It is the closest secondary response unit for
Laurel Hill, a designated urban-wildland interface community due to its
proximity to federal lands which are at high risk for wildfires (Eglin Air
Force Base).

If you are interested in being part of a professional, goal-oriented, and
well-trained fire department, we would like to hear from you. Call
850-305-8037 or

for a membership application.
