Archive - December 20, 2007, 6:30pm - We will be holding our final board meeting of the year, along with our annual Christmas Dinner for the volunteers and public that wishes to attend. This will take place at the First Baptist Church of Laurel Hill Fellowship Hall.

 
Archive - December 8, 2007, 3pm -  Meeting with newly formed Cub Scout Pack 505 in Laurel Hill. Almarante Fire/Rescue plans to play a significant role in the leadership of the pack.

 

Archive - October 23-27, 2007 is Red Ribbon week at LHS and LHVFD and Almarante Fire/Rescue will be speaking to high school students on drug awareness, the dangers of meth-labs and what to do if one is discovered.




Archive - October 12, 2007, 8:30 am  - Fire safety presentation at the Laurel Hill School sponsored by LHVFD and Almarante Fire/Rescue in cooperation with Florida Department of Forestry, Airheart 3, Blackmon Volunteer Fire Dept, and Dorcas Volunteer Fire Dept. We have scheduled so far Smokey Bear, Sparky the Fire Safety Dog, the Fire Safety House, the Department of forestry transport and plow with forest ranger, and the Sacred Heart's Airheart 3 helicopter and crew. Parents of students in Pre K thru 5th are encouraged to attend. The two hour event will start at 8:30 am behind the LHS Cafeteria. PHOTOS




Archive - October 13, 2007 - Open House at Almarante Fire/Rescue, 10am to 4pm - You are invited to come and support your volunteer firefighters. There will be fun and educational activities for the entire family. Our vehicle extrication technique will be demonstration using the Jaws of Life. Sparky the Fire Dog will greet the children from 11am to 1pm and be available for special photo opportunities, so bring your camera. We will be serving delicious BBQ plates! PHOTOS

Station upgrades are underway and construction will be completed by March 1.



Almarante has a 6/9 classification rating awarded by the Insurance Services Office.

ISO classifies communities from 1 to 10. Communities with the best systems for water distribution, fire department equipment and firefighting personnel, and fire notification facilities receive a rating of 1. The rating has a direct bearing on the cost of property insurance for every home and building in the Almarante Fire District. (The ISO Class 6/9 is up from 9/10 in 2005.)
